While collaborating with Pili Weeber Production Design, I created and developed all the graphic assets for H.E.R.'s Grammy Award-winning music video, Fight for You. My contributions included designing Black Panther-inspired memorabilia, such as posters, banners, and additional visual elements that played a pivotal role in bringing the video’s historical and cultural themes to life. These graphics were carefully crafted to reflect the powerful narrative and aesthetic of the video, seamlessly integrating into the visual storytelling and enhancing its overall impact.

CREATIVE VISION
Tasked with creating a series of graphic assets, including posters and banners, inspired by the Black Panther movement, my objective was to authentically evoke the spirit of pride, empowerment, and resistance that defined the era. Each piece was designed to resonate deeply with the cultural and historical significance of the movement, encapsulating the struggles and triumphs of the Black community at the time. The challenge was to honor the aesthetics and messages of the 1960s and 70s without directly replicating existing designs, delivering assets that felt both authentic and original while amplifying the historical narrative.
DESIGN CONSTRAINTS
The project required a meticulous approach to replicate the tactile and visual qualities of print techniques from the era, ensuring authenticity while working within a modern digital framework. Developing assets that captured the textures and imperfections of hand-printed posters demanded innovative methods, including printing, scanning, and photo editing to achieve a worn and realistic aesthetic. Striking a balance between historical accuracy and fresh creative expression required an acute understanding of the era's visual language, including typography, bold imagery, and dynamic compositions, while ensuring the designs aligned with the overarching goals of the project.
KEY INSIGHTS
This project underscored the importance of creative ingenuity and adaptability, as I ventured beyond digital tools to experiment with multimedia techniques. By embracing a hands-on process of printing and scanning, I gained a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship of historical design while enhancing my own skill set as a multimedia designer. The final assets not only honored the legacy of the Black Panther movement but also served as a testament to the power of design in preserving and amplifying cultural narratives. This experience reinforced my passion for blending historical context with modern creativity to craft impactful and meaningful visual stories.
